Is Squid compatible with Windows?
Microsoft is ending support for the Windows Subsystem for Android™️ (WSA) on March 5, 2025 (more details here). Unfortunately, after this date, the instructions below to use Squid on Windows will no longer be valid.
The Windows Subsystem for Android™️ is currently in preview!
To run Squid on your Windows 11 device, you must enroll in the Windows Subsystem for Android™️ Preview Program. Since this is a preview, there may be functionality that is broken or rough around the edges. Microsoft is continually making great strides in compatibility and performance in running native Android apps on Windows devices. Please submit feedback to Microsoft if you encounter any issues with compatibility!
Starting in Windows 11, Squid can run on Windows via the Windows Subsystem for Android™️ (WSA). Microsoft has partnered with Amazon to bring the Amazon Appstore, along with its catalog of Android apps, to Windows. Since Squid is available in the Amazon Appstore, you can run Squid on your compatible Windows device!
To install Squid on your compatible Windows device:
- Enroll in the WSA Preview Program and install the Amazon Appstore
- Open the Amazon Appstore, search for Squid, and click Get
Please note that if you have Squid installed on any Kindle or Android devices, you must be signed into the Amazon Appstore with the same Amazon account on all devices in order for your premium features to be available everywhere. If your premium features appear to be missing, please follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue.
