A critical part of Squid is missing or inaccessible

There is a rare issue that can occur that prevents the app from loading properly. If you see a message stating that a critical part of Squid is missing or inaccessible, please do the following:

  1. Make a backup of your notes. This screen will walk you through the process. Do not continue until you see the "Backup successful" screen!
  2. After you have verified that the backup in step 1 is successful, uninstall and reinstall Squid.
  3. Restore the backup you created in step 1.

Do not uninstall Squid without making a backup of your notes!

We would prefer to prevent this situation from occurring entirely, but unfortunately there are things that are out of our control.
